The tacbots (abbreviation of tactical robot) were highly intelligent androids serving as the field commanders. They usually remained at the borders of the conflicts, but were more than capable of defending themselves.
The tacbots resembled a cross between the light drones and bulky heavies in terms of stature. Their antennae were longer than those of the other models, and they were also equipped with the single amethyst optics. The plates of armor covering their chassis and abdomen were designed to imitate the Robots' logo.
Despite being slaved to cerebrators like the other combatrons, the tacbots were quite independent automatons. In addition to regular responsive modules, they were fitted with advanced analytical modules. These supplementary processors allowed them to thoroughly examine situation on the battlefield, and then relay incessantly updated directives to other combatrons. As such, they served as the intermediate field commanders, individually controlling the actions of medium-sized units.
Each tacbot was armed with right-hand mounted, powerful phaser railgun. These weapons fired bolts of concentrated energy, capable of totally disintegrating the molecular structure of the target. They were strong enough to almost completely eradicate enemy troops upon contact, and to severely damage even armored vehicles. Coupled with the independent, shoulder-mounted mini-gatling, which functioned as a safeguard, and the energy blade used in melee combat, they were formidable opponents to small squads of enemy infantry and light vehicles.
