Jag Hellavar from Helmet Clan, a.k.a. "Pyro", was a male Scillian, who lived on Bane during 37th century. He was son of Jon Hellavar and younger brother of Mardok Hellavar. He was optimistic, self-confident and jovial, almost totally opposite to his older brother. Because of the bond shared by the brothers, he knew that Mardok possessed some good in him, and Jag continously made efforts to amplify it.

Trivia
In the first, rough drafts of The Island, personalities of the "Helmet" brothers were not as distinguished. The author decided to change this; Mardok was given the role of an antihero and protagonist, who has to deal with posttraumatic stress disorder, while Jag is a jovial and sympathetic deuteragonist, who tirelessly tries to comfort him and blunt his violent seizures.
