General purpose assault rifle
The G8 Gauss carbine, in militaristic jargon referred to as Jade, was a model of Gauss carbine introduced by the Polohon Munitions a few years before the outbreak of the Hegemony Wars. It was the standard weapon of the Confederate troopers.
It was renowed for its very high rate of fire in conjuction with a decent accuracy. It replaced older models and served well the Confederate Military personnel throughout the following years, regularly receiving some improvements and modifications.
The G8 was a modular weapon system: a relatively compact, ambidextrous assault rifle configured in a bullpup layout. It fired laser-sliced 5.56mm neosteel bullets. The weapon possessed selective fire mode, operating from a closed bolt.
The frame was compact and sleek. It was compatible with several kinds of attachments, including laser pointer, scope and grenade launcher.
- G8 is referred to as a carbine in-universe, though in real life it would fit the role of an assault rifle.
- The weapon is based off FN F2000.
